My 1953 Chevy 3100 Truck Restoration propels forward with a 12V Conversion project. We traced all the wires, replaced burned up wires and took off all unnecessary potential battery drains. We also removed the generator and replaced it with a 12 V alternator, completing an unfinished conversion the first owner had started from the 6V system. Spoiler alert, IT WORKED! We now are able to start, run, and even DRIVE the truck for short distances. Next up will be a brake conversion and adjusting the gear shift. Stay tuned! This has been such a fun car restoration project, I absolutely love the Chevy advance design, and cannot wait to be cruising around town in my rebuilt farm truck. This project is very meaningful to me because it was something my grandfather and I always planned to do together, but the fact that I still get to do it in his memory is very special indeed.
